Very pleased with the services of Ruff and Ready Moving. Our movers David and James could not have nicer and worked super hard. R&R made everything simple.

Very friendly and professional. Great pricing that was based on actual weight and came out less than was quoted. Relieved a lot of stress from our move.

They were on time. They were extremely careful with every piece of furniture and every single box. They worked all the time and completed the move in less time than estimated and only charged for the time spent.

Ruff and Ready moved our office and then helped two of our employees move. They are wonderful to work with. We were very happy.

I have used Ruff and Ready 3 times for interstate moves and they knocked it out of the park each time. I hope I don"t move again but, if I do I won"t call anyone else.

I was working the entire day and my wife was alone to handle the move. These guys did everything they could to NOT allow my wife to stress about anything from start to finish. We would recommend they very much for your next move. Great Job!

I simply cannot say enough about Ruff and Ready Moving! They were wonderful to work with from start to finish. They gave us a quote, then came in under it. They even moved the date up when we asked to do it earlier. Would definitely recommend them and their crew!

They were on time, polite, careful and quick. They listened to our needs and how we wanted everything loaded. We have used them twice and both times were great.

What is involved with an in-home estimate?

During an in-home estimate, a salesperson will visit your home and estimate the weight and size of all of your belongings that you will be moving. They’ll also discuss move details such as dates, packing services, package pricing, etc., and address any questions you may have. At the end of the visit, your Ruff & Ready team member will draft a customized written estimate for your review.

Why should I hire a professional mover?

One of the main reasons you want to hire a professional mover is to reduce the stress involved on move day. Hiring Ruff & Ready Moving gives you peace of mind. Moving can be both emotionally and physically draining, and handling fragile or heavy items with care requires special moving skills. We highly recommend turning to specialists for this, as you would for many of your house moving needs, such as plumbing and electricity.

A professional moving service would include partial or full home packing, loading, transporting, storing, unloading, then helping you unpack. All the while, you and your family can focus on other parts of your move.

How should I request an estimate?

There are a few ways to request a moving and storage estimate. You can complete the estimate form on our website, which helps us understand your moving needs. Once that's complete, you can then set up an appointment for an in-person estimate convenient for you.

You can also call us at 951-834-3539 and speak to a representative.

How long in advance should I contact Ruff & Ready Moving

Most people don’t know exactly when they will move and thus they can’t schedule their move in advance. We recommend contacting movers as soon as you can. Because of our size, Ruff & Ready Moving can accommodate most requests if given 2 weeks notice although we preferably ask for more. Contacting moving companies early gives you more time to research moving companies and schedule your move for the desired day.

How much will my move cost?

How much a move cost depends on your home or apartment's size and the level of moving services you require. The best way to see how much your move will cost is to request a free house moving and storage estimate. You can even get an in-house estimate for a local Southern California moves, which will give you the most accurate assessment or a phone estimate.

What is a binding estimate?

A binding estimate is a contract that specifies, in advance, the precise cost of moving based on the services requested or deemed necessary at the time of the estimate. If additional moving services are requested or required at either origin or destination, then the total cost will increase.

What is a non-binding estimate?

A non-binding estimate charges you according to the actual weight of your shipment, along with the cost of any moving services that are performed (you will still go through the estimation process to determine what your shipment may cost).

To verify the weight of your shipment, the driver will weigh his trailer prior to loading your shipment. Once your shipment is on board, the driver will weigh his trailer again. All other moving charges will be calculated at your origin’s address. If there are any additional charges that are incurred during the delivery process, the driver will provide you with the additional cost (although this is a rare event, it can occur in certain cases).

What is a Bill of Lading?

Every mover is required to prepare a bill of lading for every shipment transported. The bill of lading is the receipt for your goods and the contract with your mover for their transportation. The driver who loads your shipment must give you a copy of the bill of lading.

Can I pack anything in the drawers of my dresser or desk?

All loose items must be packed in boxes to prevent loss or damage while moving. It is recommended that you pack all items and leave the drawers empty.

Will the driver load all the boxes that I packed?

Yes, as long as the driver deems them safe for transport.

How do I know whether or not a moving company is licensed?

A reputable and reliable moving company has such information on their website. If that’s not the case, call the movers and ask for a proof of licensure. Never hire an unlicensed mover!

Should I help movers?

You are not required to put in any effort if you hire professional movers. On the other hand, if you want to help, you will be more than welcome to do so. The best thing you could do is to offer some refreshments, keep your home safe and keep your children focused on other things so they don’t get in the way.

Do I need to be present throughout the move?

It really depends on your discretion. As you might already know, there will always be a move manager to keep everything in check. It is their job to replace your need to supervise throughout the move. However, if you wish to remain and offer specific instructions regarding the packing and handling, you can certainly do so.

What if I need storage for some things?

Storage goes hand-in-hand with moving. Ruff & Ready Moving offers affordable secured storage, for as long as you may need in our protected vaults.

Should I tip the Movers?

The movers do accept tips. Industry standard is 10-15% of the moving job which they divide up evenly.

Do I need to feed or provide drinks for the movers?

No. This is not something you have to do. Although the team does appreciate water and Gatorade when invited to have some.

What am I not allowed to bring with me on my move?

Some items can’t come with you on your move, such as fireworks, flammables, cleaning fluids, matches, propane tanks, etc.
